CUBE Honors!

Many teachers have received numerous awards for community based education activities. In addition, Ginny Graves, founder and director of CUBE, and her husband Dean, have received a number of awards for the organization and its efforts. Graves was made an honorary member of the American institute of Architects and AIA Kansas City. She received an honor award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation for her efforts in built environment and heritage education ((1992.)

In addition, she was honored by Jackson County Historical Society and Kansas Preservation Alliance, from AIA/Kansas and from the National Continuing Education Association (1994). The honor of Friend of Education, UMKC, was conferred upon her in1995. Graves was recognized with a Matrix Award from Women in Communications in 1987 and The Girl Scouts of America/Kansas City selected her as one of 25 outstanding former Girl Scouts in 1987. In 2002, she and her husband Dean were recognized by The Kansas City Urban Land Institute.
