A Building is Speaking to You
Like an actor in a play, your school plays a role on the "stage" of your community. You can learn to value that role. You can help others to respect and enhance its role.

What can you do?
Prepare a public exhibit, which helps others to understand the role that your school plays in your neighborhood. Is it a landmark, a gathering place, a district?
Your school is a visual textbook. It tells you who you were, who you are, and where you are going in terms of the value that your community places on youth, education and the future of your city. What is your school "saying" about these things?
Your school is a neighbor in your community. Your school can be a good neighbor or a bad neighbor. Make a list of the qualities of each. How does your school rate?
What else?
Your school can give back to your community: a community garden, a memorial, a place for walkers to pause or sit. Kids can be a part of deciding what is needed, who will pay for it, how it is designed, and participate in creating it. Community Connections can make it happen.
