Jan Ham

Ten years ago, with moral support from CUBE, Jan Ham became a built
environment/design educator. Three years ago Jan joined forces with the
Boston Society of Architects, creating the
program, Learning By Design in Massachusetts.

While Box City remains one of Jan's favorite events, her work has expanded
to include authoring Designing Playgrounds, a hands-on project book, and
creating courses that teach teachers to enjoy design. Jan is working more
and more these days to reach youth in out-of-school settings, and with
community organizations seeking real-world ways to get children involved in
the development decisions of their neighborhoods. Jan, as a member of the
CUBE Cadre, presents CUBE workshops nationally. Address:
